Formed in early 2003, MS Horizons develops technologies for the improvement of existing Mass Spectrometers in the field, particularly Quadrupole Time of flight (Q-TOF), LC-TOF, and ESI Quadrupole instruments. It is MS Horizons' belief that modern spectrometers from the major manufacturers are robustly engineered and capable of giving ten years or more of good service. The useful lifetime of such instruments is not limited by the failure of parts within the spectrometer, but instruments may become obsolete in as little as five years as the performance of the new instruments increases.
It is MS Horizons' aim to extend the useful life of mass spectrometers by offering a range of upgrades and accessories for the above Micromass products. In many cases the products offered will be unavailable on current commercial instruments, enabling the customer to perform truly novel experiments at the cutting edge of technology.
